Project Lead
Najma Agherdien, an Associate Professor at Wits University's Centre for Learning, Teaching, and Development (CLTD), crafts diverse learning experiences through non-accredited workshops, accredited short courses, and formal programmes. Leading as the Unit Head for Curriculum and Teaching her work with university teachers is underpinned by a social justice lens. Beyond academia, Najma's global influence extends to discussions on Postgraduate Supervision and the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoLT), promoted through podcasts, workshops webinars and publication.
With a career spanning various educational settings since 1995, her impact spans diverse educational landscapes, including roles at Saide, Wits University, and the University of Johannesburg. Najma's commitment shines through advisory work, editorial contributions, critical reader roles, and mentorship. Beyond her intensive work in Higher Education, she adds a touch of joy with her love for traveling, fabric painting, indulging in good food, and cherishing quiet spaces.
